ITE art park
The Middle of Nowhere art park presents ITE art, i.e. art made by self-taught artists. Our art park is located in a small village in the middle of nowhere, but still close to Helsinki
The story of the art park started with the thought of two friends “let’s finally do something nice together”. This thought led to ITE art and, through a few twists and turns, to the decision to buy an old abandoned market garden property in Hyvinkää for an art park (year 2022). The art park opened to the public for the first time in the summer of 2024.
A lot of recycled materials have been used in the construction of the park, such as e.g. old barn floors, pig pens, trees cleared from the property and old objects found on the property.
ITE-Art surrounded by nature
Middle of Nowhere ITE Art Park lets you explore the works of 30 self-taught artists. The exhibition consists of an annually changing exhibition as well as works from the art park’s permanent collection.
The original and inventive works are made of wood, stone, metal, and various recycled materials.
Here, art does not wait on white walls – it breathes in rhythm with the forest. The approximately 700‑meter path winds through the ruins of an old market garden and into the woods. The artworks are placed so that they appear along the way as surprising discoveries.
The art park is designed for the whole family, and its inventive pieces as well as the surprises hidden in nature keep children curious and genuinely excited.

The exhibition is built on the ruins of a former market garden, in the surrounding forest, and in a small main building. The outdoor route is about 700 meters long and takes the visitor through different environments where art and nature intertwine in a surprising way.
The exhibition is not a traditional gallery tour, but an experiential adventure for the whole family into the original and inventive world of self-taught artists in an unusual environment “in the middle of nowhere.”
